You cannot approve pending actions for servers in the "Agent License Limit Exceeded" state even after you add more server licenses in System Center Essentials 2007

SYMPTOMS

When the licensed server count is exceeded in Microsoft System Center Essentials 2007, other servers that are discovered are automatically changed to the Agent License Limit Exceeded state. However, even after you use the Essentials Licensing Wizard to add more server licenses, you cannot approve the existing pending actions for the servers that previously exceeded the license count.

RESOLUTION

After you apply this hotfix, you must reject the pending actions for the servers that were discovered after the license count was exceeded. Then, use the Computer and Device Discovery Wizard to rediscover these servers.

Installation instructions

To apply this hotfix, run the SCE2007-RTM-KB938509-X86-X64-ENU.msi file that is included in the hotfix package. You must run this file on each computer that hosts the System Center Essentials 2007 Management Server role.

Prerequisites

The System Center Essentials 2007 Management Server role must be installed on the computer.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix. The services that are related to System Center Essentials 2007 will restart automatically during the installation process.

Hotfix replacement information

This hotfix does not replace a previously released hotfix.
