Error message when a user uses the Refresh Server command on a SoftGrid client computer: "Error Code: 410038-16908204-00000917"

SYMPTOMS

When a user uses the Refresh Server command in the Microsoft SoftGrid Client Management console on a SoftGrid client computer, the user receives the following error message:

The SoftGrid Client could not update desktop configuration information from the server server name.
The server could not authorize you to access the requested data. Please report the following error code to your System Administrator.
Error Code: 410038-16908204-00000917

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the user is not a member of a group that is specified under Group Assignment in the Provider Policy on the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, add the user to an appropriate group, as follows:

View the names of any groups that are specified under Group Assignment, as follows:
1. On the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click SoftGrid Management Console.
2. In the navigation pane, expand the server name object, and then click Provider Policies.
3. In the details pane, double-click the required policy. For example, double-click Default Provider.
4. Click the Group Assignment tab. Notice the names of any groups that are displayed in the list.
In Active Directory Users and Computers, add the user to an appropriate group, or add one of the groups that you noticed in step 1d.
