The audit message for a task sequence creation operation does not identify system, component, or user information correctly in System Center Configuration Manager 2007 RTM systems

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You create a task sequence object in the Configuration Manager Console window in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007.
  • The audit message that has message ID 30000 is created for this action.
  • You run the status message queries to query this auditing message. For example, you run the All Status Messages query.
In this scenario, the following properties contain incorrect values:
System: Unknown Machine
Component: Unknown SMS Application
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM

Note Other audit messages, such as 30001 and 3002 could display correct information.

The issue prevents users from tracking Task Sequence object creation actions.

RESOLUTION
