SYMPTOMS

You deploy some per-machine printer connections to Windows Server 2008-based or Windows Vista SP1-based client computers by using group policies. Therefore, users who log on to these computers can view these printers. When you remove these per-machine printer connections by using group policies, users who log on to these computers can still view these printers.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the deployed per-machine printers are removed from the policy registry when you remove printers from group policies. However, the connections are not removed from the users' registry because a call to the print spooler fails. Because the registry has already been purged, the print spooler never tries to delete the connection again.
