SYMPTOMS

On a Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 site server, the SMS_Executive service process (Smsexec.exe) crashes. This behavior occurs when you use Intel WS-MAN Translator version 1.1, build 552 to provision some computers that are equipped with Active Management Technology (AMT) 3.2.1 chipsets.

Additionally, the following event is logged in the Application log:

Event Source: Application Error
Event Category: (100)
Event ID: 1000
Date: Date
Time: Time
User: N/A
Computer: ComputerName
Description:
Faulting application smsexec.exe, version 4.0.6221.1000, faulting module amtopmgr.dll, version 4.0.6221.1126, fault address Address.

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007, available from this Microsoft web site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3318741a-c038-4ab1-852a-e9c13f8a8140
