SYMPTOMS

After you install the hotfix 955262 on System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) site servers, you may encounter one of the following problems:
  • Problem 1
    Users cannot enumerate collection members if they have read permissions on a collection instance but not on the collection class.

    Additionally, the following errors are logged in the Smsprov.log file:
    CSspQueryForObject::GetColumnName, Unable to find property "XYZ0000D" in class SMS_CM_RES_COLL_XYZ0000D 
    Execute WQL =<SQL statement> 
    Execute SQL =<SQL statement> 
    Results returned: 0 of -1
    
  • Problem 2
    The Task Sequence Media Wizard under Operating System Deployment does not list task sequences that need a boot image.
  • Problem 3
    The counters in the Component Status window are not reset to zero as expected.

RESOLUTION

Service Pack Information

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007, available from this Microsoft web site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3318741a-c038-4ab1-852a-e9c13f8a8140

Prerequisites

To apply this hotfix, you must have System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 installed.

To resolve this problem, apply hotfix 969529 on all System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 site servers and on all computers that have the System Center Configuration Manager 2007 administrator console installed.

Note You must apply this hotfix to support Microsoft SQL Server 2008 in a System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 environment.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

If your SQL instance is a named instance, follow these steps after you install the hotfix 969529:
  1. From the updated SMS site server, stop the following services:
    SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER
    SMS_EXECUTIVE
  2. Run a command at the command prompt that resembles the following:
    378757_ENU_i386_zip.exe -x
  3. Run a command at the command prompt that resembles the following:
    SCCM2007-SP1-KB969529-X86-ENU.exe -x
    Note You will obtain the Update.sql file after you run this command.
  4. At the SMS site database server, load the Update.sql file in step 3 by using a SQL Server query tool, such as Query Analyzer or ISQL/W. From the SQL Server query tool, select the Systems Management Server database.
  5. Run the Update.sql script.
  6. Restart the following SMS site server services:
    SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER
    SMS_EXECUTIVE
