When you upgrade a Microsoft Application Virtualization (also known as App-V) client from Windows Vista to Windows 7, you receive the following error message:
Program Compatibility Report
The program is blocked due to compatibility issues.
Report the problem to see if a solution is available. Windows will automatically display a website with more information about compatibility problems.
Microsoft Application Virtualization is incompatible with this version of Windows. For more information, contact Microsoft.
This problem occurs when you try to upgrade an Application Virtualization client from Windows Vista to Windows 7. The Windows 7 Setup program automatically runs a compatibility check on the existing hardware and software. If a problem is found, the Setup program generates a compatibility report.
To resolve this problem, you must uninstall the Application Virtualization client before you upgrade the operating system on the Application Virtualization client, and then install Application Virtualization client 4.5 Service Pack 1 (or a later version).
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
