SYMPTOMS

When you have a client program that uses Microsoft Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) to create a decoupled method provider and expose a method that has return values, WMI does not return results to the client after the method is invoked.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.
