When you try to shut down a Windows XP-based computer that has Human Interface Devices (HID) peripherals connected, the time that it takes to shut down the computer may be longer than when the HID peripherals are not connected.
Note HID peripherals are Universal Serial Bus (USB) devices such as keyboards, game controllers, and scanners that comply with the Device Class Definition for HID 1.11 standard.
