SYMPTOMS

When you try to start Sound Recorder (SndRec32.exe), you may receive the following error message:

There was an error updating the Registry.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if you are running a multiple-language version of Microsoft Windows XP where local user profiles are set to different locales.
