Access Violation in the Docsredir.exe process when you redirect the My Documents folder to a computer that is running Windows Small Business Server 2003
Article ID: 838432 - View products that this article applies to.
When you use the Client Document Redirection tool in Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 to redirect the My Documents folders from client computers to the server, an access violation may occur in the Docsredir.exe process and an Error Reporting dialog box may appear.
This behavior occurs because of a known issue with the Document Redirection tool.
There currently is no workaround for this behavior, but you can safely ignore the access violation. This access violation error does not cause any loss of data or corruption of data and the settings that you selected in the tool are still applied.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.
The Error Reporting dialog box includes a button to send the information about the fatal event to Microsoft. Microsoft gathers information about these types of events in a database to try to identify the cause.
