When you log on to a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, your roaming profile does not appear as expected. Certain changes that you have made to your roaming profile are lost. You may notice this problem after you log on to a computer that you have not used in a while.
This problem may occur if the System Restore feature is enabled on the Windows XP-based computer. When the computer creates a system restore point, the timestamp of the Ntuser.dat file for each user who is not currently logged on is updated. Therefore, the Ntuser.dat file on the local computer may have a more recent timestamp than the profile that is stored on the server.
