FIX: An extra PlayCount right is decremented if you seek in a DirectShow program that contains DRM-protected contentArticle ID: 841072 - View products that this article applies to. SYMPTOMSWhen you perform a seek operation in digital content, you may notice that the remaining PlayCount right is decremented when the following conditions are true:
CAUSEThis problem occurs because the filter graph is stopped and restarted during a seek operation. The Windows Media Active Streaming Format (WM ASF) Reader filter stops and restarts the filter graph during a seek operation. This behavior decrements the PlayCount right. The WS ASF Reader filter is used when you play back DRM-protected content in a DirectShow program. RESOLUTIONA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next release that contains this hotfix. To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix.
