SYMPTOMS

In Windows Server 2008, you create a manual connection object for a read-only domain controller (RODC). After you replicate this manual connection object to the RODC, you may experience the following symptoms:
  • Event ID 1123 is logged in the System log.
  • The Knowledge Consistency Checker (KCC) deletes the connection object.
  • Lingering objects are created.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the source server of the connection object is the Directory Server Agent (DSA) distinguished name of an RODC.

RESOLUTION

Make sure that the source server of the connection object is not the DSA distinguished name of an RODC.
