INTRODUCTIONBitLocker To Go Reader (bitlockertogo.exe) is an application that enables you to access the BitLocker-protected drives. When you use BitLocker To Go Reader in Windows Vista and in Windows XP, you can open and view the content of the BitLocker-protected drives that are encrypted in Windows 7. By default, BitLocker To Go Reader is stored on an un-encrypted part of removable drives that are protected with BitLocker. Users and IT administrators may want to use a local, trusted copy of the application. Therefore, BitLocker To Go Reader is being released as an Out of Band (OOB) application for Windows Vista and for Windows XP. MORE INFORMATIONTo use BitLocker To Go Reader on a computer that is running Windows XP or Windows Vista, your BitLocker-protected removable drive must be formatted by using the exFAT, FAT16, or FAT32 file system. If the drive is NTFS formatted, it can only be unlocked on a computer that is running Windows 7.
