This is build 12.0.6654.5002 of the hotfix package. It corrects an earlier problem in which the package could not be installed after Service Pack 3 was installed.

SUMMARY

Cumulative update packages for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 contain hotfixes for the issues that were fixed since the release of Office SharePoint Server 2007.

We recommend that you test hotfixes before you deploy them in a production environment. Because the builds are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security updates that were included with the previous Office SharePoint Server 2007 update package releases.

Important notes about the cumulative update package

The 2007 Microsoft Office system hotfixes are now multilingual. This cumulative update package contains updates for all languages.
This cumulative update package includes all the server component packages. Additionally, this cumulative update package updates only those components that are installed on the system.

Known issues with this hotfix

If you have Service Pack 3 for SharePoint Server 2007 installed and try to install this cumulative update package, under certain circumstances, you may encounter an error that states that "the expected version of the product was not found on the system." If this issue occurs, run the package executable (.exe) file at a command prompt and set the PACKAGE.BYPASS.DETECTION.CHECK=1 switch as follows:

For x86: "office-kb2596540-fullfile-x86-glb.exe PACKAGE.BYPASS.DETECTION.CHECK=1"
For x64: "office-kb2596540-fullfile-x64-glb.exe PACKAGE.BYPASS.DETECTION.CHECK=1"
