Error message when you try to migrate the SYSVOL share from the FRS to the DFSR service in a Windows Server 2008 domain: "The parameter is incorrect"Article ID: 978994 - View products that this article applies to. On This PageSYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario in a Windows Server 2008 domain. You have various domain controllers that are located outside of the organizational unit’s (OU) default domain controllers. You try to migrate the SYSVOL share from the File Replication Service (FRS) to the Distributed File System Replication (DFSR) service. To do this, you use the Distributed File System (DFS) Replication service migration tool (Dfsrmig.exe). In this scenario, the SYSVOL share migration process fails, and you receive the following error message: The parameter is incorrect.
CAUSEThe error occurs because the DFS Replication service migration tool does not expect domain controllers outside the OU's default domain controllers. Therefore, the DFS Replication service migration tool does not create DFSR replication member objects for these domain controllers.
