Incorrect Privacy Report Displayed for Redirected URI When Using METHOD ElementArticle ID: 306061 - View products that this article applies to. This article was previously published under Q306061 SYMPTOMS
An incorrect privacy summary may be displayed for a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) when you click the Summary button for that URI in the Privacy Report dialog box. The Privacy Report dialog box is displayed when you click Privacy Report on the View menu in Microsoft Internet Explorer or Windows Internet Explorer.
CAUSE
This problem can occur if a redirected URI that performs one method uses a different compact privacy policy than other methods. For example, if a Web site defines different P3P policies for POST methods than it does for GET requests and then does a redirect after a POST, the policy for the GET request is incorrectly displayed for the POST URI.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
The METHOD element allows a Web site to define different P3P policies depending on the method to be applied to a resource. For example, a site may want to collect more data from users when they are using a POST method than when using GET methods.
