When you use the Microsoft System Preparation (Sysprep) tool to create a disk image, the computer may stop responding during the shutdown process.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, you must install Sysprep version 1.1. This version supports the use of an additional switch, /forceshutdown. To download Sysprep 1.1, refer to either of the following Microsoft Web sites: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsserver/2000/bb735 341.aspx

When you have installed Sysprep 1.1, locate the Sysprep.exe file, and then use the sysprep.exe /forceshutdown command.
