Error Message Occurs When You Use a Macintosh OS X-Based Computer to View a Windows Server 2003-Based ComputerArticle ID: 316076 - View products that this article applies to. This article was previously published under Q316076 SYMPTOMS When you use a Macintosh computer that is running OS X, if
you press COMMAND+K, and then type the Internet Protocol (IP) address of a
computer that is running Windows Server 2003 with Microsoft Services for
Macintosh, you may receive the following error message:
No File services are available at URL "IP address"
CAUSE This problem can occur when you use the Apple Encrypt
authentication method. When you use this authentication method, you cannot see
shares that are located on computers that are running Windows Server 2003.
RESOLUTION To resolve this problem, use the Apple Clear Text
authentication method. To do so:
