SUMMARY

This knowledgebase can help you to install additional shell support on Share Point Services 2.0.

SYMPTOMS

After installing Share Point Services 2.0, the default shell language are English. If you may need to add additional shell support, please follow the instructions in this knowledgebase.

RESOLUTION

1. Download Microsoft Windows Share Point Services 2.0 Language Template Pack from:
 
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e7eec77d-4365-4b66-8e8d-9d079c509679&DisplayLang=en
 
   Note: You may need to choose the correct template language before download the Language Template Pack.
 
2. Backup the system.
 
3. Double click on "STSTPK.EXE" and install the Language Template Pack.
 
4. There two options to use the new Language Template Pack:
 
   a. Create sub site/s in companyweb (The default web site that Windows Share Point Services 2.0 create).
      
      To use this option, please skip to step 5.
 
   b. Create a new web site in your preferred language.
 
     To use this option, please skip to step 6.
 
5. To create a sub site  under companyweb:
 
     a. Open your companyweb
 
     b. Select create, sites and workspaces.
 
    Note: Remember to set Language to your preferred language.
 
6. To create a new web site in your preferred language:
 
   a. Create a new virtual server in IIS with a new host header.
 
   b. Setup CNAME record in DNS to point the host header name to your IP address.
 
   c. In Server mangament, Internal Website select Central Administration and the Extent and Upgrade Virtual server  in
        this wizard set language to your preferred language.
