Description of the Microsoft Windows RegistrySYMPTOMSIn Microsoft FrontPage, when you open a Web page in Preview, and then click a hyperlink, the hyperlink does not work. CAUSEThis problem may occur if you have installed the update for Microsoft Internet Explorer that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 813489 and you are trying to view a disk-based Web page. The 813489 update introduced a new feature that does not allow zone navigation in Internet Explorer. This feature was introduced in the Mshtml.exe file, and that file is used by Preview in FrontPage. If the Web page you are viewing is a disk-based Web, you cannot use Preview in FrontPage to move from one Web page to another. As a result, a hyperlink in a disk-based Web that points to any other page in the disk-based Web will not work correctly. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, add FrontPage to the list of Internet Explorer compatible programs.
To do this, follow these steps: Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
