INTRODUCTION

This cumulative update for Microsoft BizTalk Adapter Pack 2010 contains hotfixes for Microsoft BizTalk Adapter Pack 2010 issues that were resolved after the release of BizTalk Adapter Pack 2010. We recommend that you test hotfixes before you deploy them in a production environment. Because the builds are cumulative, each new update release contains all the hotfixes and all the security updates that were included in the previous BizTalk Adapter Pack 2010 update release. We recommend that you consider applying the most recent update release that contains this hotfix.

  • One cumulative hotfix package includes all the component packages. The cumulative update package updates only those components that are installed on the system.

How to obtain Cumulative Update 1 for BizTalk Adapter Pack 2010

A supported cumulative update package is now available from Microsoft. However, the cumulative update package is intended to correct only the problems that are described in this article. Apply the cumulative update package only to systems that are experiencing these specific problems. This cumulative update package may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by any of these problems, we recommend that you wait for the next BizTalk Adapter Pack service pack. The next service pack will contain the hotfixes that are in this cumulative update package.If the cumulative update is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the cumulative update package.Note If additional issues occur or if any troubleshooting is required, you may have to create a separate service request. You may have to restart the computer after you apply this cumulative update.

This cumulative update contains the following updates to WCF LOB Adapter SDK, to Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for SQL Server package, and to Microsoft BizTalk Adapter Pack. The updates are packaged under three KB numbers.

To apply this cumulative update, download the appropriate packages for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010:

  • For Microsoft BizTalk Server Branch 2010 edition, download the WCF LOB Adapter SDK package (2546244_x86_ENU or 2546244_x64_ENU) and Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for SQL Server package(2546246_x86_ENU or 2546246_x64_ENU). After you download the packages, install the WCF LOB Adapter SDK package, and then install the Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for SQL Server package.

  • For Microsoft BizTalk Server Enterprise 2010, Microsoft BizTalk Server Standard 2010, Microsoft BizTalk Server Evaluation 2010 or Microsoft BizTalk Server Developer 2010 edition, download the WCF LOB Adapter SDK (2546244_x86_ENU or 2546244_x64_ENU) and Microsoft BizTalk Adapter Pack package (2539794_x86_ENU or 2539794_x64_ENU). After you download the packages, install the WCF LOB Adapter SDK package, and then install the Microsoft BizTalk Adapter Pack package.

Note To successfully install this cumulative update, stop the following services before you start the installation:

  • Enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO) (Service Name: ENTSSO)

  • IIS Admin Service (Service Name: IISADMIN)

  • Windows Management Instrumentation (Service Name: Winmgmt)

Restart these services when the installation is completed.
