Introduction

This article introduces an update that improves battery life for Low Power Audio Playback in Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2.

On a Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2-based computer, if you use a Bluetooth device that uses Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) for Low Power Audio Playback, the power consumption is higher than expected.

Note The A2DP profile defines procedures and protocols for sending high quality audio data to peer Bluetooth devices.
