Symptoms

Assume that you use Microsoft SQL Server 2014, SQL Server 2016, or SQL Server 2017 Analysis Services (SSAS). When you run a Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) query that refers to a calculated member, and when the referenced calculated member is a child member of another hierarchy in SQL Server, SSAS may crash.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2017

Cumulative Update 8 for SQL Server 2016 RTM

Cumulative Update 5 for SQL Server 2016 SP1

Cumulative Update 6 for SQL Server 2014 SP2
