Introduction

This article describes Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 language packs that are available for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2.

About Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 language packs

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 Language Packs contain localized resources for supported languages. For example, the language packs contain translated error messages and other UI text for languages other than English. If you do not install a language pack, this text is displayed in English. You can install multiple language packs on one computer, each for a different language.

Before you install the language packs, you must download and install the following neutral .NET Framework package and the corresponding operating system language pack:

For Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2

Download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 (Offline Installer) package now.

For Windows RT 8.1

Download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 for Windows RT 8.1 package now.

KB 4054534 (this article) is the master Knowledge Base article for this update. This update bundles the individual language packs for the 23 languages that are listed in the following table. Each of these language packs is installed as the listed corresponding article number instead of as KB 4054534.

The language pack files are available for download from KB 4054529.

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 language packs are available on Windows Update. They are offered as a recommended update on Windows Update.

More information

This version of .NET Framework runs side-by-side with .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and its earlier versions. However, it works as an in-place update for .NET Framework 4, 4.5, 4.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, and 4.7.1.

Known issues

  • Applications that rely on .NET Framework to initialize a COM component and that run with restricted permissions may fail to start or run correctly, and return "access denied," "class not registered," or "internal failure occurred for unknown reasons" errors.

  • For the known issues in .NET Framework 4.7.2, see .NET Framework 4.7.2 Known Issues.
