Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a computer that is running windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

  • You configure both the "Hide all icons on Desktop" Group Policy and the "Normal Wallpaper" Group Policy.

  • You try to log on to the computer.

In this scenario, a 30-second delay occurs during the logon process. Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 file information notes
