When trying to search in Outlook 2011, the search returns no items. An existing, imported, or new task does not show.
Outlook uses Spotlight to search for emails/tasks. If its not configured correctly the items you are looking for will not be displayed.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
Make sure that e-mails are included in the Spotlight search:
Check the magnifying glass for Spotlight at the upper right of the screen, you may see a little dot pulsing on and off which indicates that the indexing process is still underway. When you click on the magnifying glass the drop down will show you the amount of time remaining in the indexing process. When there is no indexing process in progress and you can still not search in Outlook 2011; contact Apple to get the indexing process going or to clear the Spotlight cache.
