When you use a GPO for application deployment in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2, the deployment fails

In an Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) environment, you cannot use a Group Policy Object (GPO) to deploy applications for installation on client computers that are running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. When you try to apply the GPO, you receive an error message that resembles the following:Additionally, the follow event is logged in the Operational log under Applications and Services Logs:

Source: Microsoft-Windows-GroupPolicy
Event ID: 7016
Level: Error
Description: Getting DC name failed: Status = 1355 0x54b ERROR_NO_SUCH_DOMAIN.

Note This issue occurs when the client computer cannot communicate with any writable domain controllers.

The global version of this hotfix installs files that have the attributes that are listed in the following tables. The dates and the times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). The dates and the times for these files on your local computer are displayed in your local time together with your current daylight saving time (DST) bias. Additionally, the dates and the times may change when you perform certain operations on the files.
