In the application eventlog, you may see these events: Log Name: Application Source: Microsoft-Windows-WMI Event ID: 65 Task Category: None Level: Warning Keywords: Classic Description: Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) Service is starting to restore the WMI repository Log Name: Application Source: Microsoft-Windows-WMI Event ID: 43 Task Category: None Level: Warning Keywords: Classic Description: Windows Management Instrumentation ADAP failed to connect to namespace \\.\root\cimv2 with the following error 0x80080008 Log Name: Application Source: Microsoft-Windows-WMI Event ID: 5614 Task Category: None Level: Information Keywords: Classic Description: During the service startup, the Windows Management Instrumentation service was unable to locate the repository files. A new repository will be created based on the auto-recovery mechanism. CauseThis issue occurs because the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) component unnecessarily performs a full validation of the WMI repository. Note A full validation of the WMI repository is a time-consuming operation. ResolutionHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article.
