You use a registry key or Group Policy to set the location of the My Documents folder to a Distributed File System (DFS) target on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
Network latency between the computer and the DFS root server is high.
You browse the files and folders in the My Documents folder in the document library.
In this scenario, you experience slow browsing performance.
This issue occurs because Windows connects to the DFS server several times when you browse a file or a folder in the document library. Therefore, browsing performance is slow when network latency is high.
