SymptomsIn Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007, the issuing certificate that System Center Online uses to validate the bootstrap certificate expires in September 2012. After this date, System Center Online does not recognize the bootstrap certificate. Note The current hardcoded Asset Intelligence (AI) bootstrap certificate is valid until November 17, 2013. ResolutionHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix Download Available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix. When you install the update, the computer resets the System Center Online Point server role. This restarts the AI_UPDATE_SERVICE_POINT service. However, the service might not start in certain environments because the AI_UPDATE_SERVICE_POINT service does not start in 30 seconds. In this situation, use Method 3 that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 941990 to extend the service startup time-out value to 150 seconds.
