Symptoms

In Microsoft Word, when you format text as Spanish (Mexico), Spanish is not enabled in the Microsoft Office language settings tool.

Workaround

To work around this problem, enable Spanish in the Office language settings tool. To do this, use one of the following methods.

Microsoft Office Word 2003 or Microsoft Word 2002

  1. On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office XP Language Settingsor Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings.

  2. Click the Enabled Languages tab.

  3. In the Available Languages list, click Spanish.

  4. Click Add. Spanish will appear in the Enable Languages list.

  5. Click OK.

Word 2007

  1. On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office 2007 Language Settings.

  2. Click the Editing Languages tab.

  3. In the Available editing languages list, click Spanish (Mexico).

  4. Click Add. Spanish (Mexico) will appear in the Enable editing languages list.

  5. Click OK.
