Applies ToWindows Embedded Compact 7

Symptoms

When you add certain locales to a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based run-time image, the locales are built incorrectly by the build system. This may cause issues when you run an application on a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device. For example, consider the following scenario:

  • You add the Simplified Chinese locale to a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based run-time image that is running on a device.

  • You run a Microsoft .NET Compact Framework application.

  • The application contains the following code:var cult = new System.Globalization.CultureInfo("zh-CN");var comp = cult.CompareInfo;

In this scenario, the application throws a PlatformNotSupportedExceptions exception.
