Introduction

This article describes an update that improves performance and reliability for Microsoft Azure Backup. This update introduces a filter mechanism for Microsoft Azure Backup to move the Microsoft SQL Server database or virtual machine data from Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager to Microsoft Azure. This update also improves the retry mechanism for Microsoft Azure Backup.Note Before you apply this update, it takes a long time to back up the SQL Server database or virtual machine data to Microsoft Azure. If the backup operation fails, Microsoft Azure may not retry the backup operation.
