Symptoms

When you run a statement or job that executes the sys.fn_xe_file_target_read_file stored procedure in a Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or SQL Server 2008 R2 environment, the following error message is logged in the SQL Server error log:

Using 'dbghelp.dll' version '4.0.5'

Cause

The issue occurs because the DBGhelp.dll file is loaded every time that the statement or job executes the sys.fn_xe_file_target_read_file stored procedure.
