This article describes an issue that occurs when there are multiple Network Interface Cards (NICs) on a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Symptoms

When there are multiple NICs on a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device, the UPnP service (upnpsvc.dll) may cause an exception. The exception error can be observed after the IP address change of one network adapter. For example, this problem occurs when the following conditions are true:

  • Network adapter obtains an IP address from DHCP.

  • Wireless LAN adapter tries to re-connect to the access point.

  • Unbind and rebind the network adapter.
