Introduction

This article describes an issue in which incorrect information  is displayed when a partition on a USB storage device is formatted by Storage Manager in Windows Embedded Compact 2013. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Symptoms

When Storage Manager is used to format a partition on a USB storage device in Windows Embedded Compact 2013, the partition type is displayed incorrectly. Additionally, after you reconnect the USB storage device, Storage Manager displays incorrect partition information.

Cause

This problem occurs because volume and partition information is not synced correctly during the formatting of the partition. Because the master boot record (MBR) was not updated when the volume was formatted, the partition information is displayed incorrectly when the USB storage device is reconnected.
