Symptoms

When an Analysis Services project is incrementally deployed to an instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Service Pack 1, the instance shuts down unexpectedly.

This problem is related to dimension processing. It occurs only if the following conditions are true:

  • The dimension already exists and is in a processed state.
  • In the processing request, you have structural changes to the dimension in which changes to a role affect dimension access.
