Important

  • If you're currently running SharePoint Workflow Manager, you must install SharePoint Workflow Manager (KB5002799) to your farm before you install this cumulative update.
  • If you're currently running the Classic version of Workflow Manager, you have to enable the debug flag in order to continue using Workflow Manager:

This security update resolves a Microsoft SharePoint Server Information Disclosure, Microsoft SharePoint Server Remote Code Execution vulnerability, Microsoft SharePoint Server Spoofing vulnerability, Microsoft Word Remote Code Execution vulnerability, Microsoft SharePoint Server Security Feature Bypass vulnerability, and Microsoft SharePoint Elevation of Privilege vulnerability.   • To apply this security update, you must have the release version of Microsoft SharePoint Server Subscription Edition installed on the computer.

Improvements and fixes

This security update contains improvements and fixes for the following nonsecurity issues in SharePoint Server Subscription Edition:

  • The GetDataFromDataSourceControl SOAP feature will be disabled starting in the September 2026 Cumulative Update. To enable the feature for a site collection, use the Enable-SPWebPartPagesDataSourceControl cmdlet. To disable the feature when it's no longer required, use the Disable-SPWebPartPagesDataSourceControl cmdlet.

  • Fixes an issue in which using PowerShell, timer jobs, or profile synchronization to update user profile pictures fails and returns a "Url is not safe" error message.

  • Closing the Search Filters panel now returns keyboard focus to the Filters button.

  • Fixes an issue in which the screen flickers when you scroll through or edit a page in certain browsers.

  • The ExecuteProxyUpdates feature will be disabled starting in the September 2026 Cumulative Update. To enable the feature for a site collection, use the Enable-SPWebPartPagesProxyUpdates cmdlet. To disable the feature immediately, use the Disable-SPWebPartPagesProxyUpdates cmdlet. To view all site collections for which the feature is enabled, use the Get-SPWebPartPagesProxyUpdatesEnabledSites cmdlet.

  • Notifies that the SharePoint 2010 Workflow feature will be disabled starting with the September 2026 Cumulative Update. To enable the feature for a site collection, use the Enable-SPLegacyWorkflow cmdlet. To disable the feature, use the Disable-SPLegacyWorkflow cmdlet. To view all site collections for which the feature is enabled, use the Get-SPLegacyWorkflowEnabledSites cmdlet.

  • Notifies that the ToolPane feature will be disabled starting with the September 2026 Cumulative Update. To enable the feature for a site collection, use the Enable- SPToolPane cmdlet. To disable the feature, use the Disable- SPToolPane cmdlet. To view all site collections for which the feature is enabled, use the Get- SPToolPaneEnabledSites cmdlet.
