INTRODUCTION

This article describes changes to the Inking functionality in Microsoft Office Word 2007. Specifically, the Ink Drawing and Writing menu command is not included in Word 2007. However, most of the functionality of this menu command has been incorporated into the Inking functionality in Word 2007.

In Microsoft Office Word 2003, you can use the following menu commands when you use the Inking functionality:
Ink Drawing and Writing
Ink Annotations
However, the Ink Drawing and Writing menu command is not included in Word 2007. Also, the Ink Annotations menu command has been replaced by the Start Inking button. To use a pen to add annotations and drawings to the existing content in a document in Word 2007, click Start Inking in the Ink group on the Review tab.

Even though the Ink Drawing and Writing menu command is not included in Word 2007, you can still use the pen to add handwritten text or hand-drawn pictures to a drawing canvas. To do this, follow these steps:
1.Add the New Drawing button to the Quick Access Toolbar.
a. Click the arrow in the Quick Access Toolbar, and then click Customize Quick Access Toolbar.
b. Under Choose commands from, click Insert.
c. Click New Drawing, click Add, and then click OK.
2.Click the New Drawing button on the Quick Access Toolbar to add a drawing canvas to your document.
3.Use the pen to add text or pictures to the drawing canvas.
