簡介

Microsoft Windows Installer 為 Windows 作業系統的元件之一。Windows Installer 提供安裝和解除安裝軟體的標準原則。軟體製造商可以使用 Windows Installer 建立其產品的安裝程式，使軟體的安裝、維護和解除安裝變得簡單又容易。

Windows Installer 4.5 已經可供使用，並且為下列作業系統的可轉散發系統元件：
  • Windows Server 2008，32 位元版本
  • Windows Server 2008，64 位元版本
  • Windows Server 2008，Itanium 版本

多重套件交易

在多重套件交易中，您可以從多重套件中建立一個單一交易。在多重套件交易中，Chainer 是用來在交易中動態包含套件的。如果有一個或以上的套件未如預期進行安裝，您可以還原安裝。

內嵌 UI 處理常式

您可以在 Windows Installer 套件中，內嵌自訂的使用者介面 (UI) 處理常式。這樣可以使自訂 UI 更容易整合。您也可以在 [控制台] 的 [新增或移除程式] 項目中，叫用內嵌的 UI 處理常式。或者，您可以在 Windows Installer 修復程序期間，叫用內嵌的 UI 處理常式。

內嵌的 Chainerr

您可以使用內嵌的 Chainer 將套件加入至多重套件交易。您可以使用內嵌的 Chainer 啟用所有多重套件的安裝事件。例如，您可以啟用所有多重套件的「隨選安裝」事件、「修復」事件和「解除安裝」事件。

更新取代項目的恢復功能

這個功能可讓您修正取代項目期間 FeatureComponent 表格的變更。

解除安裝期間共用元件修補的恢復功能

此功能可確保所有產品都有最新版的可用元件。

自訂更新解除安裝時的動作執行

此功能可以讓更新程式新增或變更自訂動作，因此當更新程式解除安裝時，即可呼叫自訂動作。

在 Windows Installer 4.5 中已解決的問題

在 Windows Installer 舊版本中出現，但已在 Windows Installer 4.5 中解決的問題如下：
  • Windows Installer 服務的 SeBackupPrivilege 使用者權限遺失。缺乏此項目會使所有需要此使用者權限的自訂動作受阻。
  • Windows Vista 的 InstallValidate 動作中，部分有區分大小寫的服務名稱比較會造成不必要的「檔案正在使用中」訊息。
  • 當您解除安裝新增新元件的更新時，該元件也會跟著解除安裝。即使有其他產品有共用此元件，也會發生此這個問題。
