SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install a 64-bit printer driver on a computer that is running a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • You use a 32-bit application to print a document to a printer that uses the printer driver.
In this scenario, the print job fails.

Notes for developers
  • This issue occurs if the printer driver uses the ExtEscape function to send data from the User Interface (UI) module to the rendering module.
  • If you debug the application, you notice that the print job fails when the application tries to execute the StartPage function.
