If you are new to touch devices, learning a few gestures will help you take maximum advantage of the touch capabilities.

Moving around in a file

To... Do This... Gesture
Change slides Tap the slides in the navigation pane. Change slides
Zoom in Spread two fingers apart. Zoom in
Zoom out Pinch two fingers together. Gesture to zoom out.

Making a selection

To... Do This... Gesture
Activate the onscreen keyboard Double-tap on the text box. Activate on-screen keyboard
Place the cursor Tap the location. Place cursor
Select and edit text Double-tap a word to select. Select and edit text
Select a paragraph Triple-tap within the paragraph. Select a paragraph
Select several words, sentences, paragraphs Double-tap the first word and drag the selection handle right, or right and downward, to the last word you want to select. Select several words
Clear text selection Tap anywhere on the screen. Clear a text selection
Select table Tap anywhere on the table. Select a table

Working with shapes and objects

Move Tap the object, then hold and drag the move handle. Move an object
Resize Tap the object, then hold and drag any of the resize handles. Resize shape proportionally
Rotate Tap the object, then hold and drag the rotation handle. Rotate a shape
