Try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.
Solution 1. Restart your PC
- Go to Start
> Power
> Restart

Solution 2. Repair or reset the app (if available)
- Select Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Select the app, then select Advanced options.
- Select Repair.
- If the issue continues, select Reset.
Note
Not all desktop apps support repair or reset options.
Solution 3. Uninstall the app from Settings
- Select Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Select the app, then select Uninstall.
- Follow the on‑screen instructions.
Solution 4. Use Windows Troubleshooters (if prompted)
Windows 11 may automatically recommend troubleshooting steps when installation or removal fails. Follow the guidance provided in the error message or notification.
Malware or security software issues
If you’re trying to remove malware or a suspicious app:
- Use Windows Security to run a scan.
- Remove the app only after threats are cleaned.
