This article discusses update 5002500 for Microsoft OneNote 2016 that was released on January 2, 2024.

Improvements and fixes

This update fixes an issue in which OneNote 2016 closes unexpectedly when it synchronizes certain notebooks that are shared from more recent versions of OneNote. After you install this update, the notebooks can be synchronized successfully.

Windows 11 and Windows 10

Go to Start, enter Control Panel in the search box, and then press Enter.
In the Control Panel search box, enter Installed Updates.
In the search results, select View installed updates.
In the list of updates, locate and select KB5002500, and then select Uninstall.
