This article describes update 4461531 for Microsoft Visio 2016 that was released on January 2, 2019.
Be aware that the update in the Microsoft Download Center applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2016. It doesn't apply to the Office 2016 Click-to-Run editions, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home (see Determining your Office version).
Improvements and fixes
This update contains the following fixes and improvements:
The rotation handle is shown at an incorrect position when a shape's width or height is 0. This causes you can't rotate the shape.
This update adds the Gannen date format support for the Visio Application Programming Interface (API). See May 2019 Japanese Era changes for Visio 2016 for details.
This update makes some changes for a new Japanese era so that Visio 2016 can use the correct Japanese calendar and support format dates by using a new Japanese era name when it's available. See May 2019 Japanese Era changes for Visio 2016 for details.
Note To enable this improvement, you also need to install January 2, 2019, update for Office 2016 (KB3203480) together with this update.

Windows 10
- Go to Start, enter View Installed Updates in the Search Windows box, and then press Enter.
- In the list of updates, locate and select KB4461531, and then select Uninstall.
Windows 8 and Windows 8.1
- Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then select Search. If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then select Search.
- Enter windows update, select Windows Update, and then select Installed Updates.
- In the list of updates, locate and select KB4461531, and then select Uninstall.
Windows 7
- Go to Start, enter Run, and then select Run.
- Enter Appwiz.cpl, and then select OK.
- Select View installed updates.
- In the list of updates, locate and select KB4461531, and then select Uninstall.
