Symptoms

Assume that you use SQL Server 2017 or Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Analysis Services (SSAS 2016) in Tabular mode. When you run a Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) query or a Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) query, SSAS may crash.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2017

Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2016 SP1
