Symptoms

Assume that you use the Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and 2017 Analysis Services (SSAS) Tabular model. When you connect to an SSAS Tabular model and run a Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) query by using a non-admin Windows user, SSAS may crash.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 7 for SQL Server 2017

Cumulative update 8 for SQL Server 2016 SP1
