Symptoms

When you use Microsoft SQL Server 2014 SQL Profiler to connect to an instance of SQL Server 2005, you receive the following error message:

Note

SQL Server Profiler cannot perform this action on database servers earlier than SQL Server 2005. Please use SQL Server 2005 or later.
